Overall Mandate:
As Senior Product Manager, IoT Hardware and OEM Connected Solutions you will drive data connectivity solutions including the development of innovative telematics device and IoT sensor solutions, as well as working with top tier Automotive OEMs on connectivity solutions for vehicles and equipment. Your responsibilities will include crafting product strategies, overseeing hardware and OEM development roadmaps and requirements from concept to launch with an eye on ensuring our products align with the dynamic needs of the market, our customers and our strategic goals.
What We Are Looking For
- Solid experience in telematics, AI dashcam and IoT hardware product development and/or product management.
- Experience is also sought in product management of OEM connectivity solutions including API integrations and enrollment-activation processes with automotive OEMs (e.g. Ford, GM, Stellantis, Tesla etc.) or equipment OEMS (e.g. John Deere, CAT, Komatsu etc.).
- Experience in telecommunications network systems and devices, embedded systems or similar fields and/or experience working with leading Automotive and off-road equipment OEMs on connected solutions is also preferred.
- Proficiency with workings of satellite and cellular telematics devices as well as associated IoT technologies such as Bluetooth-enabled (BLE) asset tags/beacon and remote asset monitoring.
- Demonstrated technical fluency with hardware and firmware troubleshooting processes will be important as well as an end-to-end understanding of automated device management from onboarding to health monitoring to automated remote troubleshooting and repair.
- Familiarity with cellular carrier device certification processes in North America, Europe and Australia.
- Experience in developing market and product requirements for our hardware engineering team and third-party manufacturers to use in developing reliable telematics devices
- A good understanding of fleet use cases and their impact on algorithms and the quality of data shared between edge devices and the cloud backend will be important.
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and team collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Technology, or related field; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
Your role will encompass the following.
- Lead long-term product strategies for our hardware and OEM product lines, collaborating with external partners, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Engage in proactive market analysis to identify trends and opportunities relevant to IoT and telematics.
- Keep your pulse on customer feedback and post-launch metrics to ensure success in the market.
- Be a champion of innovation and technical excellence, integrating cutting-edge technologies into our product offerings.
- Participate in the product development process, guiding your team through the complexities of building telematics hardware, firmware, and associated diagnostics systems.
- Foster strong relationships with vehicle OEMs, ensuring seamless API integration and compliance with industry standards.
- Ensuring devices and connected solutions meet compliance needs for HOS/ELD and other applications.
